Maxon has announced the release of a macOS version of Redshift, its GPU-accelerated renderer that was previously only available for Windows and Linux-based operating systems.
The new version of Redshift is compatible with both M1 and Intel-powered Mac computers, and can utilize Apple’s Metal Graphics API, although the M1 version will require macOS Big Sur (version 11.3).
The Mac version will require a minimum of 8GB of system memory, "Navi" or "Vega" AMD GPUs or later and 8GB VRAM or more.
As with versions for other platforms, Redshift for macOS will cost $500 per license.
