Apple has announced that it is discontinuing the iMac Pro. The all-in-one computer, which was at one point the most powerful in Apple’s product line, will still be available for sale while supplies last at its current $5000 price point. Not every previously offered configuration is available.
The announcement comes as little surprise to many. Since the iMac Pro’s 2017 release, Apple has introduced significant performance boosts to its standard iMac line and released the Mac Pro, effectively rendering it redundant, although it still holds some appeal as a pricing “sweet spot” for some users.
Apple is expected to release a new line of iMacs sometime this year to take advantage of its new line of processors.
