AWS Urges Users Update To Deadline 10.0 Or Later

Amazon’s AWS Thinkbox service has released a message to Deadline users strongly encouraging them to update to version 10.0 and higher, and that support for previous versions would be deprecated.

While the message to Deadline users didn’t refer to any specific vulnerabilities with older versions of the software, it did refer to security concerns multiple times, and even began with the statement that it was the “top priority” of the service.

“[T]his guidance is consistent with AWS-recommended security best practices, specifically keeping environment software updated,” the message added.

Updates to AWS Thinkbox Deadline also features performance improvements and greater integration and performance with  Autodesk Maya and 3ds Max, SideFX Houdini and Mantra, Maxon Cinema 4D, and Foundry’s Nuke applications.
