Autodesk has announced the release of Maya 2020, the latest version of its animation software package.
The 2020 update boasts several new and updated features, including cached playback and layered dynamics caching, smooth mesh preview, animation bookmarks, and more.
It also includes Arnold 6, which allows for production rendering on using CPU and GPU power.
“Arnold 6 with Arnold GPU simplifies the process of creating and iterating on content, giving you the speed and flexibility to adapt to the ebbs and flows of production,” stated the Autodesk blog announcing its release.
Maya 2020 also features a new update to Bifrost, a procedural node graph for creating simulated effects and custom behavior.
“The new Bifrost Graph Editor makes it simple to conceptualize, experiment, iterate, and eventually package and share effects with fellow artists,” stated the announcement.
Maya 2020 represents a major update and includes a wide array of exciting new features, the full list of which can be found here.
