Blackmagic unveiled a successor for its UltraStudio 4K breakout box - the UltraStudio 4K Mini. The Mini improves upon the original device by adding Thunderbolt 3 support for 40Gbps capture and playback, 12G-SDI, and a smaller, cooler design that reduces fan noise during heavy use.

One of the best bargains highlighted at NAB 2019 was Blackmagic’s new version of Davinci Resolve. Currently available as a public beta, Resolve 16 comes packed with a slew of new tools aimed at making basic editing faster and more intuitive, particularly on jobs with tight deadlines.

Great news for Mac-based Fusion and DaVinci Resolve users who are looking for a little extra processing power: developer Blackmagic has officially released their own external GPU (eGPU) solution for Macs.
