Foundry Releases Nuke 12.0

Foundry has released version 12.0 of Nuke, their node-based digital compositing and visual effects application. The update introduces a wide range of new features and functionality, including:

  • Inpaint: A GPU-accelerated tool similar to Photoshop’s Healing Brush.

  • EdgeExtend: Nuke 12.0 boasts a new edge extension system giving users better ability to adjust boundary regions around objects.

  • Support for OpenColorIO roles: The new version will now support custom names for color spaces.

  • Combining DeepMerge and DeepHoldout: Foundry is combining both tools into one to simplify controls.

  • Overall enhanced performance: Version 12.0 boasts a wide number of performance improvements aimed at reducing the time taken to load large scripts.

  • New grid warp tracking: Nuke’s new grid warp tracking system will provide greater control for planar tracking.

The standard version of Nuke 12.0 is priced at $4758, with Nuke X and Nuke Studio priced at $8853 and $10,248 respectively. Quarterly rental pricing is also available.
