Maxon Announces Changes to Product Licenses

VFX software developer Maxon announced to customers that it would be adjusting their current licensing model for their line of products.

The company, which produces Cinema 4D, Red Giant and Redshift among other titles, stated that they would be phasing out their existing Maxon License Server. . They’re also updating their proprietary Maxon App to better integrate with the new licensing structure. The move is expected to be effective in late April 2022.

Licenses for Maxon One, Red Giant and Cinema 4D will all be affected. For Redshift RLM Licensing, which will continue to be supported, a unified license definition (ISV) will be utilized instead of a dedicated RLM server. Redshift licensing will also be supported under the Maxon App. Nodal can assist VFX studios with the license transition, and clients are encouraged to reevaluate their existing licenses for Maxon products.
