Backup service Backblaze has announced that it will be upping its prices effective August 16, 2021.
As of next month, the company’s rates will now be $7 for monthly service.
“Over the last 14 years, we have worked diligently to keep our costs low and pass our savings on to customers… the average backup size stored by Computer Backup customers has spiked 15% over just the last two years. Additionally, not only have component prices not fallen at traditional rates, but recently electronic components that we rely on to provide our services have actually increased in price,” stated a blog post on Backblaze’s website announcing the price increase.
There are no plans to increase Backblaze’s B2 cloud storage costs.
Despite the rising cost of the service, Backblaze remains an effective solution at an extremely reasonable price point. Backblaze cloud backup is a Nodal offering and our recommended cloud backup solution.
