Autodesk has released version 2020.2 of its flagship VFX and finishing software Flame, introducing a range of new tools, workflows, and more.
Amongst the more noteworthy features in the new version are:
A single-click keyer to isolate human bodies and faces using AI-driven workflows. This promises to simplify the process of identifying people and creating animated mattes for grading, lighting, and background replacement.
Unlimited Storage of Reference Stills. The increase is part of an updated interface for the Compare tool.
Improved Playback performance via GPU Accelerated Media Pre-Processing. This feature marks a significant improvement in Playback performance when importing media files.
In addition to the new features, version 2020.2 will support Blackmagic Design UltraStudio SDI and HDMI Preview cards on CentOS and is compatible with macOS Catalina (10.5). Users considering an upgrade should note that Flame will not run on macOS 10.15.0, and need to upgrade to version 10.15.1.
A subscription to Flame is priced at $525 per month or $4205 per year.
