Weta Digital Announces WetaH

Weta Digital and SideFX announced the upcoming release of WetaH, which will give cloud-based access to a suite of VFX tools.

WetaH will incorporate Weta’s own proprietary tools into Houdini, SideFX’s 3D animation software application.

“This powerful partnership validates the importance of modern procedural workflows in today’s

forward-looking visual effects pipelines,” stated Weta’s press release. “Years of joint development work and a shared outlook underpin the inclusion of Houdini as a key part of Weta’s vision for how the entertainment industry will evolve.”

Weta Digital has yet to specify its system requirements or pricing, but indicated that WetaH will enter private beta in Q4 2021.
