Why the rush? At this year’s DefCon, a security researcher revealed a security flaw in Zoom that would allow a hacker full control of a target’s MacOS device. Even worse, the flaw is actually part of the way that Zoom releases updates to patch vulnerabilities.
In case you’re not entirely exasperated, there’s still another vulnerability that has been disclosed that the company has yet to patch.
Despite, or perhaps because of, its role as the dominant platform for online meetings, Zoom has come under heavy scrutiny for a variety of security and privacy issues. While Zoom has worked to address these issues, even to the point of implementing a development freeze, any company that relies upon it is advised to monitor their site constantly for new updates.
